Three Ways to Make Sure Your Application is Perfect
You have worked hard your whole life, saved, planned, invested and now you are ready to start your next chapter, and retire to Italy with an Elective Residency Visa.
You have only one chance to get it right.
What is the Elective Residency Visa?
The Elective Residency Visa (ERV) is a long-stay permit designed for non-EU citizens that want to move and live in Italy full time without the need to work.
In other words, if you plan to RETIRE to Italy and have enough passive income (pension/annuity/investment income) to support yourself, and you want to live FULL TIME in Italy – this is the Visa for you!
Getting Clear..
Where do I apply?
You must apply for the ERV at the Italian Consulate in the jurisdiction where you live in your home country – NOT Italy.
What are the minimum requirements?
The basic criteria for an ERV are:
1. Must have full health insurance coverage at least EUR 30,000 per person per year with repatriation clause
2. Must have a place to live in Italy (rent/own)
3. Must have a minimum passive income of €32,000 / year NET
There are other requirements that vary from Consulate to Consulate, but the above are the key ones.
How hard is the ERV to get?
Contrary to what many people think, the ERV is NOT an easy visa to obtain. The Italian Consulate scrutinize applications and only approve a small number each year.
What is the #1 reason for a Visa denial?
The most common reason for a denial letter is the lack of financial proof to support your application. This is a complex component of your application and is critical that it is organized and detailed to pass the test of the Consulate. Although the financial minimum is €32,000 / year, it is a combination of income/assets and supporting documents that will take you across the finish line.
It’s not just the fact that there seems to be so much to research. You can handle the research, you’re good at finding information.
The problem isn’t that some of it’s confusing, or the language feels like jargon. You’ve dealt with that before and can figure it out.
The actual problem is this:
You have one shot at making your dreams of moving to Italy a reality, and all the conflicting information leaves you worrying you’re missing something.
And if your life is truly going to end up giving you everything that Italy can offer - you can’t keep spinning your wheels just trying to find your way through with fingers crossed.
You already know the Elective Residency Visa has a high rate of denials and that being prepared for the scrutiny of the Italian Consulate is vital. Just hoping you’ve done it right isn’t the best strategy for success...

Option 1
Samantha Wilson's
The most important decision you will make is whether or not to go-it-alone with your fingers crossed, or get the help, guidance and support from the experts.
Just One of Our Successes
Samantha Wilson was an indispensable advocate for my wife and I in the labyrinthe of legal hurdles to entering Italy with an ERV.
At every step of the way, she provided critical advice about how to characterize our assets, our purpose, our life goals, utilizing language and attitude which made the most sense to the Italian bureaucracy.
She forestalled and prevented harmful errors on our part, again and again. She did this while maintaining an incredibly upbeat manner, always sunny, always encouraging, but always realistic, never minimizing the toughness of the challenge.
For her timely and sage advice, we strongly recommend her assistance. Without it, we would never have succeeded in gaining entry to Italy and securing our visa.
We are deeply grateful to her and can't overstate the value of her involvement.

A Wonderful Story
Debbie had been dreaming of moving to Italy for years, she new she was ready but needed help putting it all together. She didn't want to take any chances.
With many Covid delays, one of our happiest moments was when Debbie sent a message saying that she had received her Visa in the mail. It was a massive relief as her consulate appointment wasn't as friendly as she had hoped.
We stayed positive though, as through our work together, we knew her application was perfect. The wait felt like a lifetime.
But the day finally arrived, and with her passport in hand, and little dog soon to follow, Debbie has arrived and is now living her best life in beautiful Tuscany.

A proper review, takes many hours and every document must be critically evaluated so that we can spot the discrepancies and advise you on how to correct them.
We do not provide "quick glances" at your ERV Application. This is not fair to you or to us.
Generally, we can complete a full review within a couple of weeks, and a complete package a little longer, depending on how quickly you can get the information across to us.
