Please review the following terms to Utility Set Up Service.

We are happy to assist you in setting up your new utilities in Italy.  The process of moving accounts and/or establishing a new utility account in Italy is complex.  The time to complete the set up can range from a few days, to months, depending on the property and service.

We will do our best to establish your new service as quickly as possible, but please understand that we cannot force a utility company to attend on a specific date or time. 

Typically, former owners/renters do not close the utility completely when they move out.  Instead, we will provide the utility company with some information and we can switch the account into your name.  Therefore, in most cases, you will not be out of service.

However, in some cases the owner/renter may have closed the account, forcing us to re-open the account. This can take longer to do, depending on the property and the service.

We will not be able to move the utilities until you have legal possession of the property. 

Our service includes Water, Gas, Electric, Garbage Tax and Internet. We charge a flat fee for the package of services, regardless if you need all or some. 

We will negotiate the best rate dependent on whether you are a resident or non-resident.  We do not have any influence on the rates, nor do we take any commissions on utilities. Our goal is to assist you to get the most economical rate.

We will set up your utilities into the normal use rates.  If you need increased power, please advise us at the time of establishing your account. If you wish a change of service, this will incur an additional fee.

Utilities can be in one name only, even if you share the house, so please decide who's name the utilities will be in in advance. Any changes to the account will incur an additional fee.

You will be given an option of payment method for the accounts and access to create your own online account to each utility provider once your account has been set up and active. We will create the online account and will provide all temporary passwords. You can access the online platform to view and pay bills in the future. 

We will need the following information to start the service:

1. Signed and paid order
2. Copy of your passport
3. Copy of your Codice Fiscale
4. Home address
5. Residential status in Italy
6.  Property details, lease agreement or deed
7.  Email address and phone number for your online account
8. Copy of old bills from the previous owner/renter
9. Photo of the readings from the meters

If your property has no connection to services, or, service has been completely shut off, there will be a surcharge.  Please advise us in advance.  ciao@smartmoveitaly.com
